Can't remove helmet from character

idk if its the game or caused by mod, but my character was attached with a helmet that I can't remove when changing it in barbershop. It got override instead so I wore two helmet at once

Are you using barbershop mod?
It has double clothes and double hats I think. So need to change both.
I haven't used mods in a while but last time I played with mods most my characters had double clothes on and they were clipping. Had to set other clothes to None and then I could have it work normally.

That looks like a common problem caused by compatibility issues with mods.

What is your mod load order, and are you using compatibility patches?

This happens a lot with the ethnicity expanded mods

yes, I use fullscreen barbershop. How do you change both?

nope, I didn't have that mod when the problem happen. But now I already made another save with that mod because I thought it would somehow fix it, but it didn't

I think it was caused by trait. I wore it when I got a new trait and I can't remove it

last time I used full screen barbershop the list of options to change has Clothing 1 and Clothing 2. Most likely it had Headgear 1 and Headgear 2 options as well.
And the options are in stupid places. Clothing 1 I think was near the top of the list and Clothing 2 was near the bottom. So make sure you modify both to get the change you want.
Last time I used it I set the extra clothes and hat to None and only used Clothing 1.

it still can't be removed, I figured it out (I think), it was caused by flavour pack's game rule option about changing gear when you have a certain trait, and I can't remove the trait either because its a modded trait so I stuck with this headgear :). Thanks for the help though
