It does rob people. As it has been advertised as upgraded version of CK2.
So out of goodwill and expectation users bought the game to have better game play experience. So don't come here and drop your garbage opinion. Know the legal implication of customer protection and expectation. So if this is a completely different game then Paradox is guilty of false advertising as it supposed to be an upgraded version of the similar game play as CK2.
Again that's not how things work. People just had enough of money grabbing so called gaming companies such as paradox. we paid money for a product thus have right to complain since it did not meet majority of the customers expectation.
You may walk away from this conversation if you don't want to part take in this. But don't white wash paradox. They have history of squeeze money out of kids pocket money who play their games.
Today $10
Tomorrow $20
Day after tomorrow $30
And after all that they published a bad game with false advertising.
We openly welcome criticism because it helps us make a better game, just as we value knowing what people enjoy about the game, but attacking each other over a difference of opinion serves no purpose beyond diluting the value of the discussions here.
The content:
“A comet has been sighted.” - ‘Ok.’
You’re trying to argue that individualized vassal contracts is somehow worse than a one size fits all slider? Grasping. Ck2 doesn’t even have knights. Lifestyle focus compared to the lifestyle trees in 3? Would be like comparing a street puddle with the Black Sea. Hooks, secrets? Ck3 is vastly superior in nearly all the core mechanics.
I don't understand this logic.
You come to an Ice cream shop.
It offers two flavors. Chocolate "Ck2" and vanilla "Ck3."
You are able to buy both, as they are both available.
If you can have your ck2, and it fulfills you, why complain about the other flavor?
It looks like vegetarians complaining that other people are eating meat, despite having a full plate of luxury vegetables in front of them.
Yet, you also have 1000 hours in the game. Let's say you bought the game for $60. The worth of this game to you is $0.06 an hour. That's either high enjoyment or addiction (depending on perspective).
Also, since you've put so much of your finite time into the game, of course it is lacking. Read a book? Play a game? There's an end. The more you consume or expose yourself to stimuli, the less impact they have. Think back go your first 10 hours of ck3, would you hold the same opinion as you do now? Doubtful.
Drink alcohol? Smoke? You build up tolerances. Watch a lot of content? Your critical rating window becomes stricter.
What is your 0? What is your 10? It differs from someone who has played 10 games versus 10000.
The reason vanilla is not enough is not the fault of PDX here. You have grown, your tastes have changed. What is needed to excite you now takes much more effort and time. Perhaps try a pallet cleanser, or cold turkey reset. Perhaps log off for a day, or a week. Take a dopamine detox.
Edit: emotions are tied to memories. Why many look back with nostalgia and rose tinted glasses. If you played a game during a happy event in your life, that game is going to reflect that happy memory. Same with sad, anger, or escapism from reality.
One last analogy. Sugar. The more you eat it, the sweeter things you need. Eventually, too much sugar will lead to diabetes. Our tolerance to sweetness builds up fast. If you don't eat sugar for awhile though and drink soda, for example, the soda will taste like cough syrup.
Edit: based on Rex comment below, I added more context to the question. Thanks again.
