Older version: 1.8.1

I would very much like to continue an active game i've been playing for weeks now.
Woke up the day after a long session only to find out that now i can't continue that save anymore, because of an update to version 1.8.2 ....

So the answer would currently be to rollback my game version to 1.8.1.
But it is not even listed in the beta section in steam.

Sooo.... what now? 0.0

It was only an Update for the Pre-Order DLC of Chapter 2, your Saves should work with 1.8.2.

The Game will always tell you, that the Save is from a different Version, even it was only a very minor Patch like the 1,8.2 Patch.

Well, i mean. I get the following message.

And my game crashed on loading that save as soon as the world map is loaded.

That message doesn't mean anything you can just ignore it.
A lot of the time you can just open CK3, and then load from the main menu and it won't crash when pressing resume in the launcher crashes.

Here's a real answer:
-Get depot downloader https://github.com/SteamRE/DepotDownloader
-Open a command window and navigate to the folder it's in
-Run
./DepotDownloader.exe -app 1158311 -depot 1158311 -manifest 2740292904108733852 -username "your username" -password "your password"
-username is the actual username, not display name. I'm getting the build information from https://steamdb.info/depot/1158311/manifests/ , I'm only guessing that the 4 month old one is 1.8.1 . You'll probably be asked to authenticate through steam guard, which is fine.

That's the game files.
I would suggest, personally, that you make a copy of the CK3 that have now somewhere not in steam, and then copy this one over it since it looks like the game files doesn't have like, the dlc or the launcher. oh, i never just click resume game ^^'
I always like to go to the main menu first, to make sure.
Ever since total war decided that resume game, meant starting the turn before the one your last saved.

I'll give this a try perhaps. Its rather late now.
