Will CK3 ever get a stable release?
If I did not word it correctly, here's a detailed explanation of my question (TL;DR below):

I played CK3 for some several hours or tens of hours and I loved it. So of course I went ahead and dove into the modding scene. The game was really fun but of course, modding addiction kicked in later on and I started subscribing to many mods.

In the end the game was stable, but I had to give a break to playing the game for time issues. After a few months or so, the game got big updates which broke many of the mods in my load order. And since then, the game is constantly getting updated. I'm not complaining but I'm waiting for a time when the game will not get updated and I can download compatible version mods. Currently, many mods I enjoyed are incompatible due to game version.

So TL;DR when should I revisit this lovely game to enjoy it with fully compatible up-to-date game version mods without them getting broken by the game updates?

Pick a version in the betas and just stay with it if that is what you want.

Like Wven posted above, we are looking at 8 to 10 years of continuous development. But you can always go back to any earlier iteration and stick to it until mods caught up.

Thanks for the answers people. I know I can pick a beta but then there's no option to get earlier versions of mods. And some mods really are QOL, or enhancing contents which are deeply missed. Some mods are kept updated by their authors and some are not which result in many versions incompatibilities that I cannot solve easily.

The game will continue to be updated, and mods will continue to break (until they are updated) for a very long time. PDX has been very slow with development of CK3 compared to the DLC factories their end-of-life-cycle games (EU4, Stellaris, HOI4) inevitably turn into.

As a rule of thumb you should have a cleanly vetted mod load order, ideally shouldn't go into the high double digits or things will break even if every mod is up to date. Some modders will religiously update their stuff, others fall through the cracks as it is just a hobbyist thing after all. There won't ever be a "We're all done, enjoy your mods forever" last patch for CK3 for /years/

Thanks for the detailed reply. I get it. I really want to play the game with mods, but I wouldn't want to see my save unplayable after some time. Guess I'll go with vanilla or just smaller mods. I wanted to get people's ideas so I might get a save that could last longer. Thanks again :)

I don't get some of the people hating on me for asking a simple question. I did not even say anything about the devs, and expressed my love for the game and some sugar fairies decide to pick a fight at an online forum. Pettiness at its best.
If you want a stable version of mods, manually source them.
Steam Workshop updates automatically to whatever the author has submitted.
ModDB or Nexus would be a place to look for mods if you want to manually manage them.

it's not fault of the devs when a mods breaks, that's up to the modders. If I'm correct, you can play old versions of CK3 that way you won't break the mods.

Your title is a bit tricky, because the game is "stable", in any case the mods that you use are the one that fell behind.

I think one of the most asinine complaints I hear thrown around on Paradox games is the

"PDX keeps breaking my mods."

Not only is this complaint extremely narcissistic, it also is incredibly dumb.

Paradox has absolutely no obligation, nor should they, to protect and keep your mods up to date. That's because they are MODS - not official pieces of content.

Also I have no idea what that means 'Stable'. Do you mean a complete lack of updates and new content? Because if thats what you mean, your probably looking at 10 years.

Enjoy the wait. Its definitely gonna be a bit.

I think people take "offense" to your question because it implies that you want PDX to stop development on the game so that mods can stabilize. This is something that they do not want obviously. There has been more complaining that the updates and new content have been coming at too slow of a pace....not that there is too much or that it is happening too fast.

So, I think your question kind of hits a nerve with some people....

The Paradox model is very similar to an MMO. It is continually updated for several years growing and expanding until the next edition is developed.

When CK4 is available the updates for CK3 will likely end.

CK3 has been stable since release.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks a lot for your inputs guys, really appreciate them. I'll try handle them manually. The title might've been wrong but I love the game and I know it is stable but I couldn't find the right word. Thread can be locked.
