Generally for wide play, what is more recommended?

Fundamentalist means faster conversion and more revocation opportunities (hostile & evil faiths).

If you're min-maxing then there's not a lot of reason to be Righteous, you either want to be Pluralist (if you're trying to manage a mult-faith realm) or Fundamentalist (if you want to spread your faith everywhere because eg your faith has the Communion Tenet and you're the Temporal Head ).

Righteous is mostly useful if you're not really sure how you're going to play because other faiths don't hate you super badly and Holy Wars automatically remove Hostile+ faiths from power so you never end up at a severe disadvantage.
