1. Create an empire, expand until you have several kingdoms, give the titles to your dynasty and release the Kingdoms.!
2. Get a good amount of female dynasty members, marry them to the grand child in line of succession for a kingdom(matrilineally), wait until they have a child, kill everyone ahead of those children in the line and done.
True! That's assuming they don't immediately get overthrown by peasants. :P
So 1000 renown for "Dynasty of Many Crowns" is just the tip of the iceberg.
If you want even more renown...make a kingdom independent where the king is NOT of your dynasty. Just make sure that all 5 of his dukes ARE in your Dynasty. That's 5 x .5 or 2.5 per month for one kingdom.
Crete, Cyprus...yeah. Usually 2, 3 maybe 4 kingdoms in Spain. Depending on how the Crusades worked you need more.
Oh yeah, Venice.
Lately I've been taking Kaabu and Takrur in Africa and Estonia in the north to finish up.
Any more suggestions?
I've thought of giving up Wales and/or Ireland...but I usually start in Great Britian and have a soft spot for them. (Especially since I spent soooo much time in Ireland in CK2 lol)
Independent Kings are really not needed at all, because Vassal Kings of your Dynasty produce more than enough Renown, through their Royal Court alone up to +3 Renown without any Artifacts.
(This is only the monthly gain, without the Vassals paying Homage or winning Tournaments.
The Devs should rework the Dynasty of many Crown Decision to give something special, because currently it is not worth it
Even so...that doesn't happen until you become emperor. You can start amassing renown well before that with utilizing the above mentioned strategies.
All excellent points! However, that's assuming they don't get overthrown by peasants or an internal claimant faction.
I have taken this decision before at least two times and I know it can be done fairly quickly and effectively.
However, the Iberian struggle can also be done fairly quickly and effectively and you get like 10k renown for ending the struggle.
Just seems a bit off to me.
I don't have the Iberian Struggle. That does seem a little much.
