Well worth it if you play a lot of games on Game Pass (and don't have many long down periods without playing said games), but deceptively expensive over two or three years otherwise.
(The $5 price, for the record, is introductory. I'm not sure what the period is, but... The final price is definitely $10 per month.[www.amazon.com])
That's got to be a positive with Paradox. I wont be buying the game separately Ive had enough with their dlc. I doubt I will ever buy one of their games again. But getting it with the Game Pass is fine.
Your call. They're getting paid regardless of the platform, so I don't expect you'll see any Paradox employees popping on to try and convince you to go the Steam route. If you're not into DLC, by all means. Just, like I said, make sure once the price jacks up that you're using it enough to warrant the cost. If you have a sub for five years, you'll have to play 12 or more different games on a regular basis that cost $60 on Steam in order to get your money's worth. Any less and you're paying more than you would have through Steam.
If you end up only playing a couple games on it, it's still cheaper to simply by the base game on Steam and skip the DLC. You can do that, you know, You seem to have fielded it in this comment as though buying on Steam means you have to buy the DLC when it comes out, and obviously that's not the case.
Almost all of CK2's dlc is implemented into this game at launch. There's very little that's missing.
Yeah right. So they wont be issuing any new dlc for this game? You must be delusional if you think that. Anyway not get into an argument about dlc. The fact is Game Pass is an option for people who dont want to buy the game.
He didn't say that, he said most of the DLC from CK2 is in CK3 already. Meaning any DLC for this game would largely cover previously unheard of content.
Further, I again direct you to the warning I've issued twice: Game Pass is not an option for people who don't want to buy the game. You still pay for Game Pass, and after five months of service at the final price, you start paying more for the game than you would have buying it on Steam.
If you wish to ignore this fact, that's your prerogative, but I'm trying to help you ensure you don't buy into Microsoft's sneaky business model blindly and end up paying $720 to play the base game for five years in order to avoid buying $200 worth of DLC over the same period.
It's your money, just don't say I didn't warn you.
People who don't understand basic budget economics will rarely heed the advice of anyone trying to explain it to them.
