Lowborn female courtiers wanting Champion or Councillor jobs - or they leave ?
Is this a bug or intended feature?

I am playing as small insignificant Scottish vassal, so the courtiers have no renown/prestige. I have Lowborn female courtiers in my court and even if they are married to high ranking noblemen such as the Marshal etc, they have a tag on their name saying they will leave my court unless given employment - such as "Champion" or "Councillor".

First, why would a lowborn, especially a lowborn female (in those times) demand to have a higher position in what is already a lowly court with no real prestige? Secondly, even if I wanted to employ them - there is no option to make lowborn/females into Champions or Councillors. One of them is married to the Marshal, likes me, has a child on the way and is also employed as Caravan Master, she has a high aptitude at the "job".. yet she still wants to leave.

Sometimes I have seen courtiers leave Scotland and they end up in Estonia, leaving their noble/high rank husband AND their children alone in my court. This even happens with restricted diplomacy. What's up with that?

It would be nice if there was more detail or some sort of +- value put on a courtiers reasoning for wanting to leave. I've had completely lucky games with everyone on the up, improving, no wars, mostly happy court and high prestige, yet lowborn courtiers still want to leave.

"Wanderers" who have left your court seem to have totally unrestricted diplomacy options and can vanish from your court and reappear elsewhere in the world days later, meaning you lost contact with them even if they have family at your court.

Is there an ideal number of courtiers that you should have? My understanding of them is that they are middle-class people who are just working at or close to the noblemans family/house/lord and hang out at the court. Is it ok to have tons of courtiers, every Knight and Councillor married and then them all having at least 1 kid each, whilst only being a small vassal/Earldom/county? Any extra info would be appreciated. Thanks :)

It isn't a demand they just don't have enough reason to stay. There is a court event that happens where a high greedy score courtier without a court position will demand a position when you give court positions to others... Many people find this event and most people who trigger it a joke.

As a whole it is an intended feature. Sometimes a bug happens where someone who will stay at court are flagged as someone who might leave. Probably the bug is caused by their reaction to their appointment not happening yet.

Here is the relevant information https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Court#Courtiers

In other words if they don't directly have something to do then a lot needs to be keeping them at court.
