That being said, the disfigurement-hiding face masks and the ability to get leprosy are both in the game, so a person who is very similar to king Baldwin may appear at any time in any place.
- Select 1080 start, as it is nearer to his time.
- Catholic religion and whatever culture he had.
- Unless I am wrong, and Jerusalen results to be a kingdom inside an empire, you will have to start as a duke. Jerusalen was not independent.
- Leper trait. I ignore most about him, so no idea about where I should improve his stats.
- Give him a son, even if it is not historically accurate (unless you can give him a brother). Why? Because when he dies you will need a heir.
Problem? If not wrong, at 1080 Jerusalen belong to a powerful muslim kingdom, and your king will try to force you to convert. Anyway, this would only add extra difficulty. Once I made a Valencian christian duke inside Al-Andalus and became too powerful to my muslim king to force me to anything. Although if Jerusalen was inside Jatimid empire things could be harder.
P.D: If you can give him a wife she might be the heir. Probably not because being in a muslim land, but you could test it suiciding your 'Baldwin' at the start and see the result. If, as expected, you lose because no heirs, then try again giving him a son or a brother.
P.D: Not a bad idea for a future campaign. :)
