Can't get anyone to come to my court. "Base Reluctance" modifier?
All I see online are posts about people inviting high prowess champions to marry courtiers and rolling in the generals and champions.

What game are they playing?

Even if I set the filter to only people of my culture and religion, EVERY LAST SINGLE ONE OF THEM has a -50 base reluctance modifier, and not a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ single one will ever join my court.

Am I doing something wrong? It's starting to get really frustrating. I've never in my 150 hours in this game have been able to invite a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ person to my court.

What is your rank and reputation? Can you not even get guests to join your court? Marrying off unlanded peasants to anything other than wandering peasants or guest peasants is almost impossible when you first start a game. Nobody knows you, and nobody really wants to know you. You need to change that. People with houses of their own are easier. People with houses AND court positions (like a knight) are much easier to marry off. People with some prestige are easier still. Landed people are even easier.

Easiest start if you want men at arms is to save some coin and invite knights as an action.

You need some positive modifiers and there are many, many ways to get those. Prestige, renown, hooks, dread, legacy tree, perks, cultural acceptance, grand marriage, traits, artifacts, etc.

Then you haven't learned the basics of this game

If you want to get better people either increase your court grandeur, give better lodgings, or make do with what you have.

Like the guy above me said you can't expect to marry a lowborn to get a knight from a prestigious dynasty. He expect a peerage, unless that lowborn happen to be beautiful seductress genius and/or you're a powerful emperor capable of catapulting his career

It's feudalism, after all. But somehow I wish I could use "promise barony/county" when I invite someone
