Infirm
Been playing a bit more recently and i find that my characters seem to get this trait early and often. One in their mid 40's. Perfectly normal rulers with no other trait or vice that would suggest they are susceptible to being bed-ridden

in·firm
adjective
not physically or mentally strong, especially through age or illness.
"those who were old or infirm"

My characters are relatively young, fine prowess and learning and do not have other traits that would lead me to believe they'd be the equivalent of old people in wheel chairs or walkers

Infirm don't count Age, only your Health, as long your Health is green, you can not get this Trait, but as soon your Health is yellow or black, you can get the Event, which gives you the infirm Trait.

And Characters can only die of Old Age, if their Health is below 3 and the Game is more than happy to kill all Character, who it can kill.

idk man something doesnt seem right. My characters are; athletic, hale and have their wits about them. IF they are unhealthy they need to show that in game a bit better. Im ok with having poor luck on health but i want the game to display it other than a random debuff i get at the age of 40 and have to deal with for an additional 40 years.

For example did he have an accident, did he break his leg, did he fall on his head, did he have meningitis or something, a stroke.. you see where im going with this?

Well, the Health value is exactly telling you this, your Character and all others are totally fine, if their Health is green, above 5, if your Health is yellow under 5, your Character and others are not feeling fine and as soon it gets black, your Character and others are death within 3 - 6 months.

I should have taken a snippet but hovering over the heart the only negative effect was "infirm" that doesn't tell me much

After getting octogenarians my rulers always became infirm. My last heir became a drunkard on day 1 of being an adult.

There seems to be a lot of BS happening more frequently now. Couldn't get rid of the shy trait in my line through 13 emperors. Previous game every single member of my dynasty from immediate family on out had the sadistic trait. It was everywhere.

I hope they aren't trying to inflate the difficulty with stupid events and it was just bad RNG luck.

Usually when it comes to the shy trait if you're the ward you're options are

Shy
Gluttonous
Craven

What a list! I usually just end up being fat. The other 2 make for a worse time.

This is untrue, I just had a wise man become infirm while still having green "fine" health, now he is 82, but I recruited him at 80 with fine health and he's had no health trouble since then.

This also speaks to two problems, the first major one being people not stepping down when they become "infirm", some positions seem to automatically retire, idk if it's random or not. This is compounded by either a 200 prestige penalty or you are forced to pay them to do potentially nothing once they become infirm, because it's a -75 penalty that is insurmountable for any court position. At least most positions still give some production once aptitude is terrible.

The Second smaller issue is that to be a Hermit, a character needs at least level 1 of "Wise Man", this is an extremely rare trait because it seemingly can't be leveled and often spawns on extremely old characters who can apparently become "infirm" while still healthy.

This. i have gotten infirm on characters with "Good health" (Dark Green) but it makes sense as they get it when they are in their 80s and a lot of damage to their body throughout their life from battles.

Not saying anybody is right OR wrong, but how something worked a year and a half ago often isn't the same way it works now - and every update can add in new bugs/quirks.
