What's the most fun religion you've created?
I've been really enjoying starting as the king/queen of that little island on the southern tip of India (Sri Lanka?) I've found it's a really easy place to form new religions and just mess about without too much stress. So any tips for fun religions? Or what's been your most fun experience?

'Pagan' friendly "Third Pope Of Christianity" Greater Bohemian faith with Fem clergy and the occasional religiously sanctioned 'self-purification' at old age, amongst other things.
Was an interesting run, mostly because I followed some instructions online to make it so my custom faith had holy sites of it's own and not reliant on its 'parent' faith's locations (besides Jerusalem and Rome that is).

I focused on conquering an empire roughly from just south of Bohemia to the Baltic sea and outside of the 'Rus' kingdom area-place. Then basically converted most of the 'pagans' around me to my faith; peacefully if possible. I made no effort to expand into the Orthodox or Christian dominated regions, although a few realms did switch to my faith there.

It originally started as a continuation of my Henry's life after I finished Kingdom Come: Deliverance the first time. Understandably, I also had those culture traits(?) that made peasant leaders more common and the communal land one too.

(The downside to custom faiths, beside meme-runs or minor adjustments for RP reasons, is that your custom faith holy sites will always be the same locations as your parent faith. Even when that wouldn't make any sense.)

In most my capaigns that i have created a religion (or reformed) i used that to my advantage but never had much focus on it, except 2 (one of them still ongoing).

The first one: i started as a count, went on conquering the whole Sardinia (because of the gold mine and to have it as my capital). From there, with a good source of gold, and after conquering enough holy sites, i went and created a new christian faith that accepted witchcraft, and did sacrifices, also allowed me to be the head of faith.
Basically my idea was to create a cult full of witches. Eventually i manage to spread my "cult" through Europe. I was the king of Sardinia and a Vassal to the Emperor of Italia and Germania (he had both titles). As his spymaster with a lot of hooks and also abduct schemes i managed to have his heir as well as the heir for other kingdoms around me to convert. Eventually i took down the pope and toke Rome as my capital, keeping both duchies of Sardinia and Latium under my direct rule.
It was a different run for me since i never went so deep on religion like this time, also i have done some bad things in the past, but never went so deep into being a tyrant that relies on dread to keep its position. I was a true cult leader there, and pretty much untouchable, and who tried to go against me...thats a sacrifice.

My current campaign: unlike the first one i mentioned, this one my focus was not 100% on religion, but still using it a lot. I started as a female count (created by me) within the region that later can be the Igbo-Benue Kingdom (west-africa, in the most southern area of that region).
Both my culture and religion see both genres as equal but i also merged with another culture that has the Matriarchal tradition (giving bonus opinion on female rulers).
I then reformed the Orisan faith and made it so i would be the head, also make a few changes, including that tenet that allows people to seek indulgences for money (dont remember the name).
I already manage to form the Empire of Guinea and im on my way to also make the Empire of Mali, my goal is to take the Unite Africa decision. The thing is, the way i reformed my religion and culture, the opinion that a lot of people have of my character is quite good. Aslo as i grow, more and more people give me money for their sins.
Basically it looks like my character is a godess and the same goes for her daughters. Most people love them. I never had such an easy time spreading a religion like on this one.

The most fun I've had was with "militant Christianity". It wasn't just the religion alone though, that made it so fun, but its combination with culture perks.

The "militant Christianity" had armed pilgrimages, monasticism and unrelenting faith, coupled with recruitment clerical function, mandatory pilgrimages, virtuous witchcraft and equality for genders in every way. Further, I changed my culture ethos to belliclose and over time stacked the following martial traditions: formation warfare, monastic communities, only the strong, warrior priests, warriors by merit, martial admiration and by the sword.

I ended up having an active roster of 40+ knights with every knight having 40+ prowess with 500+% knight efficiency. It went so far, that I defeated 100+k AI armies with 20k men-at-arms in the early battle phase regularily. Because I had equality, there was never a shortage of extremely powerful Dukes and Duchess' filling my knight ranks, hyperboosted by prized equipment, which often propelled their prowess into 50-60+.

Sure, I broke the game with it, but it was super fun doing so.

Playing tall Kingdom of Pagan, got to primogeniture + designate heir, then formed a new Buddhist religion that glorified samsara- made lustful a virtue, eliminated penalties for adultery, enacted 'no bastards' option- then moved my king from theologian to seduction focus.

It basically let my king seduce pretty much every eligible courtier with an inheritable trait into his court, claim any decent kids that came out of it, and make the best one his successor. Also great vassal control since a chunk of them were his lovers, which helped mitigate the penalty from high crown authority.

It wasn't a min/maxed religion, but it was fun from the POV of roleplaying the hedonist son who was forced into learning and then went bonkers when his uber-religious father finally died.

(I did think about keeping carnal exaltation but making adultery illegal and enacting communion, but I didn't really need the gold. Still, that could be a fun option for the future.)

I enjoyed my reformed Bori religion with Carnal Exaltation, Polyamory, and Sacred Childbirth.
