How to set up a multiplayer LAN game

My brother and I keep desyncing despite being on the same network with google fiber. How do I set up so we quit desyncing or just have it be exclusively on our network and not whatever server that is causing these issues.

I'm not entirely sure how you would go about setting it up in LAN. But if multiplayer desync is the issue, I've got a solution. Quite literately just keep playing.
Move the desync window out of the way by dragging it down or something so you don't see it, and just unpause. I kid you not, this works just fine as me and my friends have had the same issue of our game desyncing very early when loading the save. But about five 4 hour sessions later and everything is still fine.
