LOOOOOL!
Forgive me. :) I'm not laughing AT you, I'm laughing WITH you :)
The English are total mongrels. I mean, forget the Beaker People, the Celts, the Romans, the Angles and Saxons, the Viking, the Danes, the Icelanders, the Irish, the Scots ALL invaded and left their traces all over the place! England for centuries was just a massive crossroads!
Massively Mongrel and Proud!
Less so after brexit.
'Mongrel' dogs live longer and healthier lives, so it's actually good.
I don't know if you mean that your ancestors are Visigoths or Spanish. I am Spanish, so I have blood from Greek, Phoenicia, Cartago, Rome, Gothic (not only Visigoth), Bereber, and maybe Arabic. Add jew blood, since Romans expulsed them from Israel, so they spreaded around the world.
Although I won't claim that we are the mixed blood champions:
- Some other countries have interesting histories with invasions and migrations.
- From South USA to Argentina, natives have Indian blood mixed with Spanish mixture. So they would be even more mongrel than us if it weren't because some Indians and mixed people visited Spain in XVI century, so current Spanish also have a little of Indian blood. XD
P.D: Fortunately it is common. As you say, mixing is way healthier than endogamy.
