Ageism Bull Crap
Look at this Ageism Crap that Paradox is pushing on this game now, I can't even get a ruler to live past 50 with the accidental deaths turned off!! I finally decided to take all the health perks to "try" and get past age 50, and this is what I get from the game!!

Quit taking the extreme treatments and you won't lose limbs.

I have neither experienced this issue nor seen other players have any major issues with ageism. I have had plenty of ruler live past 50. When my rulers die early its because they either die in battle, die after sustaining a critical injury. fall victim to a murder plot or to Random Harm events (before I turned it off). The only other common issue I have seen players lose their rulers early is to stress which can quickly spiral out of control if one isn't careful. Are you sure that they are dying to ageism and not one of the one listed above?

I mean, some people die young. Sometimes they directly succeed each other. But I haven't experienced an unusual amount of young deaths since the latest update.

Ok, since you asked. My fist guy died a little older of old age at 54, then the next guy died on heart failure at 51, then died of acute apoplexy at 49, and then my current guy at 46 whos a walking corpse.

I have noticed in the new updates that my characters tend to get infirm and/or incapable sooner than before. Generally, they get infirm around age 50 or so and will die of old age around 60-70. I think Paradox has kind of messed things up though because, with Tours and Tournaments, it's way easier to get health buffs through either wanderer, hunter, or hastiluder, so to counter balance that, they made way more random health penalties, which ends up making things feel swingy. My characters don't really have slow declines. They're fine at age 60, then at age 61, oops, suddenly they're a leper or incapable or have great pox or whatever and then they die. But this is only my subjective opinion, after all.
Skill issue
i have literally had multiple leaders live past 100, and it's realistic that they would be weaker in old age due to immune system weakening and going senile and ♥♥♥♥

That's the new Harm Events. I just turn them off since they're balanced terribly.

I have them set to AI only, but I still feel like I get hit with infirm or incapable pretty often.

Also, why can't infirm characters participate in board game or recital grand tournament events? If there's any 'ageism', it's that imo.

I've googled solutions for your problem and come up with a range of effective tactics:
  • Harden up
  • Man-up
  • Grow a pair
  • Pull your socks up
  • Pull your finger out
  • Pull yourself together man
Hope one of those works for you

The game is easy enough as it is, why would you make it easier by disabling harm events?
I had a guy live to 103. Was playing as Haesting infact. The court life is like the hunger games and damnit you need the odds to be forever in your favor. One life you'll die to a horseriding accident, another you will be a great general, the next a diseased and addled genetic accident.

There is definitely a bug in the game. I played one game where the majority of my dynasty members ended up being incapable for some reason. This happened since I bought the Tours & Tournaments DLC. I have never seen this before in ~460 hours
