is there anyway to change game rules mid game?

Sadly, no way to change game rules. Not sure if there's a mod or something like that, but definitely not in vanilla.

To add you'll find all the game rule key names in
\common\game_rules\00_game_rules.txt

Swap out the game rule key name you don't want for the ones you do want.

And also any game rule key names from mods will be in the \common\game_rules\ of the mod, which you can look up in your Steam workshop folder (which is usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam)

How so? That's legitimate advice. It's not even being presented harshly and is good advice for any new player and something I wish I had done when I first started.

OP asked if there was anyway to change mid play-though not before did not wish to restart at all basically that post only mildly condescending and and useless to the main question hence why i said Morven answered the best.
post was also phrased like "best idea and how about actually" is a condescensional prompt
even if he wasn't meaning to. and no im not being condescending all im saying is stick to what he is asking that wasn't condescending at all because what he said was basically useless to the op he wants to change mid game and you can with some save coding work top comment was more condescending.
