Upgraded to Windows 11: now game crashes on launch
Played yesterday on Windows 10.
Today upgraded to Windows 11: now game crashes on launch.
Verified integrity of the files,
then uninstalled and installed anew.
keeps crashing. =(

(I have Steam installed on a separate disk. Not sure if that's the problem.)
(My Settings -> System -> Display -> Graphics does not seem to recognize CK III game. It recognizes my only other installed game.)

Please help. ^^

Works fine on Windows 11, but my setup was win11 from beginning. Maybe there is some "ghost" files even if you uninstall with steam, it's pretty common. You should try to erase your paradox folder in AppData after uninstalling (you will lose your saves). Can you start other Steam games ? What about other paradox games, (if you have any) they all use the same engine basically.

I have Windows 11 and it runs fine. Definitely an issue on your end.

Lucky us who stay on Win 7 and never see problems. ;)
When making any OS change you need to make sure the drivers and other components that programs depend upon are correctly installed and updated. Don't rely on windows update or comparable for anything other than OS updates.

Simply uninstalling all games and then Steam didn't work. After reinstalling Steam and CK III, the game kept crashing. So I went scorched earth and, after uninstalling Steam, deleted every Steam and Paradox folder on my laptop I could find. That did the trick and the game now runs OK. OK, because there are still occasional crashes when I try to adjust settings. :(

that is because it leaves the Data folder when you uninstall games most of the time. Basically you just need to delete the data folder. Win 11 does things a bit differently i guess. It's been an issue i've seen pop up on lots of games. They delete the folder,. (typically where mods and saves, profiles are) and let the game recreate the folder. Manually drag and drop saves back to the right spot and it should work.

Did you check your basic stuff on your laptop? check to see if there is a chipset update or other basic updates since you purchased your laptop. Goto the companies site and look up updates and drivers and even BIOS and see if there is anything you need.

At this point in time your loosing function by not being able to play things. New games working on win 7 is getting rarer. Some will, but some won't. Don't worry, win 10 won't last forever either.

If you're experiencing crashing issues, then please disable any mods and see if the issue persists. If it continues, please post a thread with your error logs attached to the Bug Report board on our official forums[forum.paradoxplaza.com].

Proper bug reports are crucial to resolving crash issues, and we're unable to assist you without them.

Thank you! Mods can definitely be an issue because I have quite a few of them installed. Many are out of date.

I'm having the same issues. Strangely, CK3 sort of works directly through the Paradox Launcher but it doesn't include all of my DLCs.
