Duchies
Why can't I hold 3 duchies as an emperor???

I understand that we all have a domain limit, but as emperor, you should be able to have a little bit of more domain.

I know the limit of duchies is 2. As emperor, I always hold 2 duchies: Thrace and Phillipolis. I grant my despots 2 duchies as well; for example despot of Armenia will hold mets Hayk and vaspurakan and the rest of the duchies are held my his other vassals.

Note: never grant more than 1 duchy to a duke unless you will grant him a kingdom.

My dukes only are allowed to have 1 duchy and it's always primogeniture male preference.

However, emperors should be able to hold one more duchy. I want to hold the duchy of Strymon without the duchy penalty. Thrace, Phillipolis and Strymon would be the perfect number of duchies to hold as an emperor.

the honest answer is balance reasons. It would make emperors way stronger then they already are, and imo they are already too strong.

That's the point. Emperor must be stronger than their vassals. Emperors must have the privilege to hold one more duchy because a king or despot can also hold 2 duchies.

emperors are already much stronger then their vassals even without it

Wrong, the correct answer is, it is a leftover from CK2.
They simply copy this from CK2.

And in CK2 it was not possible to hold more than 1 Kingdom, because your Vassals have desired your Secondary Kingdoms too, but this is not in CK3.

Just suck up the duchy penalty. Your vassals are basically just calling you greedy behind your back, which you kind of are. You already own all of Thrace and Phillipolis and you want to own Strymon too? You are the emperor and you can do that, but I don't think it is unreasonable for people to complain about it.

Only if those Kingdoms were not De Jure part of your Empire Title.
