Shunned vs Criminal
Beside imprisonment, is there any major differences between shunned and criminal in the crime doctrine?

You can only imprison characters, if your faith says that this is criminal, if your faith says it is shunned, you get no imprisonment reason and if you blackmail someone with a shunned crime, you get only a weak hook, but blackmail someone with criminal secret and you get a strong hook.

The major difference is when you're a vassal it will decide whether your liege tries to imprison you or simply gets an opinion penalty.

Thank you. I didn't know we can get strong hooks by blackmailing them because I just imprison them when the notification appeared.

Criminal also allows you to revoke titles. That can be quite significant.

I recently played a campaign in the hre and my solution to the partition dilemma was basically to have a good spymaster.

As the game progresses, you always end up eith a few duchies held by female rulers. Adultery is criminal fir women under catholicism, so you can just revoke their stuff and put younger sons in their place so the primary heir gets to keep the domain duchy fully intact upon succession

This brings me to another issue of CK3, the unrealistic amount of female rulers, because male-preference does not work right, because in-game a daugther is higher in succession line as a brother of the current ruler, in history this was never the case, a brother was always higher in succession line, if current ruler has no male childs.

Even CK2 this work right, I don't know why the Devs have changed it for CK3.

And in Knights of Honor, females have never a chance to become ruler, as it should.
