there are no cultures that start as female dominated/preference. There are a few equal gender cultures

If you play as Daurama Daura in the 867 start, you get an event where you can switch to female preference however.

if i recall correctly the christian coptic faith right under egypt has some more female dominated cultures.

If you switch to a heresy or adopt a culture with the right traditions you can get equal. Female dominated is an Event for Daruma Daura, or a doctrine for custom religions. There is no prefab female dominated religion/culture in the game.

I've seen some African cultures that were accepting of female leaders, but it's hard to find it anywhere else. You can always over time change your culture and laws. It just takes a little bit of time.

Those have equal succession or changed their succession laws. No realm that I'm aware of starts with female only succession. The closest is Daruma Daura which get's an event, but the start is a bit harsh.
For christian nations, the easiest way to get to female succession is starting as one of the few female rulers and embracing a heresy that has equal succession. Just be aware that it will mean your neighbours will be hostile towards you.

There's also a setting for it

Don't go equal in this game or all your vassals will give their titles freely to other dynasties, because the max. Penalty for wrong marriage type under Equal Faiths is only -200 for their primary heir.

I can marry all heirs of equal faiths without issue into my dynasty, because the AI is more than happy with it.

The game is not supported to play with equal faiths.

You need to go through that if you want to go for female succession. If you up thrown authority to 3 you cannot lose land due to inheritance.

Only if you take the event, otherwise Daura is equal gender, same for all the other african cultures

Succession gender preference is part of religion and modified by culture. I am not sure about cultures but there is no religion that starts with female preference/female only succession. You have to create those yourself. There might be a switch due to events but not by default.

Unless they changed it back, after one of the updates earlier this year, a lot of the East African realms were switched to female preference succession, even if their cultures were male-dominated. I remember this because it caused an early headache for me when I wanted to do a Kushite revival run.

Several people mentioned Daura and I just wanted to point out that the event always happens at the start. So effectively they can start female dominate if you want to be. It is a poor tribal area at the earliest start date though, which might be a pro or con depending on how you wish to play.

Note that if you do start as Daura is that their intrigue is low, and she has a rival with high intrigue that will try murdering you early on. Though it is possible the befriend the rival (after bribing) to stop her from trying to murder you. It can be hit or miss though.
