save file compression
Trying to edit a save file but only part of any of the manual and automatic saves i make are readable, the rest of it is in a compressed looking state
I tried enabling console in properties, using notepad++, turning off cloud save,
changing it to .txt too.
when I right click to see if the saves are compressed the only option available is to compress the files, not sure of anyway to uncompress the rest of the file, only readable part goes down to the current player character dna, then the rest if unreadable

You're doing everything right...

Internet told me two things.
1.) You had to edit the settings.txt file (Documents/PDX/CK3), and change the "save_as_binary=yes" to "save_as_binary=no"

2.) Change the savefile from .CK3 to .Zip

There's also the cheatengine approach I'm too dumb to tell you about.
But I THINK your solution should be on this page:

i dont have a line that says: "save_as_binary=yes" or "save_as_binary=no"

For me, renaming it from .ck3 to .zip has worked. There might also be a setting ingame to untick for compressing save files but I don't remember for sure.
