Also, it subsidises the cost of "flavor packs" like Fate of Iberian and Northern Lords, which offer a lot of content for a much less price.
When first playing CK2 could we imagine that our characters would evolve from being portraits to what they are now?
Personally, I don't mind paying extra for a game I know has been crafted to perfection and precision by innovative minded developers. This is because I know that money will go towards the development of the game and not just a cash grab.
Subsidies aren't fair, nor are they pricing that way. They price by how much time it takes to make it, worth it or not. If they thought the flavor packs were worth it, they most certainly would have charged more. Your statement is a complete logic fail, because all it does is encourage everyone to skip trusting them up front and waiting until the reviews, and then not buying it until a deep, deep sale, while picking up the flavor packs that are actually worth the money.
No Paradox fan wants Ck3 to end up like IR. We are simply asking to be provided a quality product.
What? IR is the greatest game of all time!
IR had ALOT of potential to be great game even greater than CK3 but it was charged at a full premium price, when it was limited in features to what you expect for the price attached to it. The UI was terrible and basic navigation was counter intuitive.
It was like paying full price for a demo beta version of a game that even the developers lost interest to complete the project.
IR seemed rushed and the lack of enthusiasm the team had to improve or overhaul the game when it got bad feed indicates it was just a cash grab for them.
Which is a shame. I hope it gets a sequel or they decide to overhaul the game with a major update to fix the main issues.
Honestly IMO IR trumps CK3 in its current state. Not having to manually chase tiny armies and having your army auto cap provinces is amazing.
War can feel so tedious at times in CK3.
