What is it with all the gifts you know receive.

I am currantly playing as Count Yuhanna of Mallorca. I recently conquert Napoli and swore fealty to the Byzantine Empire. Ever since I did that other vassels of the Empire like the Count of Nicosia and the Duke of Paphlagonia have gifted me money for no reason and they have negativ opinion of me. Why do they suddenly do that. Is that part of the new friendship mechanic that the actively try to improve my opinion of them. I must add that I do struggle with money, because of Mallorca's terreble development. And my money was under a 100 when they gifted me gold.

I think they increased the likelyhood of the AI gifting you gold, but somehow messed it up, so that people with really low opinion of you sometimes gift you gold for no reason

Or it is intended adn its supposed to make the game even easier than it already is

If they were your friend there was a chance of them giving you some gold. I have not checked the files yet, but I guess it just isnt limited to friends anymore + some weird requirements like generous and nothing more, resulting in random dude who hates you giving you gold

Me neither, but I also never been a vassal before, so I don't know wether gifts between vassals is more likely than gifts between lieges and lords or sovereign rulers.

I got like 7 gifts within 6 months while playing in Iberia, made easy 600 and something gold.

Think they just increased the likehood of getting gifts from your vassals. As for getting gifts from some that have negative opinion, that sounds like they messed up something in the code.
