Maximum age?
Is there a "maximum age"? I ask because I may have tweaked some stats on my ruler/councilors/courtiers/immediate family and now all of my council members are WELL over 100 (my spymaster is a terrifying 120 year old crone). Also the game clearly didn't anticipate great-great-grandchildren as they're just called "courtier".

Perinatal mortality should be at least 50%, and the people reaching 50 years should be the exception. In the game they commonly live more than 100 years.
They have 30 or 40 children, all reaching adulthood... and they continue to have children after age 85... I wonder in which world the devs live.

And they don't seem willing to fix this. Nothing is realistic or credible, it makes the game very boring after some time.

Records show-healthy- people in that era living that long. Serfs/peasants, levies and men at arms? They died young.

Medieval era being horribly unhygienic is a myth, just like how the dark ages were a regression of technological growth.

Most of this propaganda came from Renaissance snobs, the hipsters of our era :P

https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Attributes#Health

"Health is a measure of how likely a character is to die. Male characters are born with health between (and including) 4.5 and 4.9; female characters are born with health between (and including) 5.0 and 5.4.[1] Once a character reaches the age of 25, they have a 7.5% chance to lose −0.125 health each year. The chance increases by 2.2% each year."

"When health is either Poor, Near Death or Dying, there is a chance at a given interval to die. The lower a character's health, the bigger this chance is."

1-3 health = Poor

0-1 health = Near Death

<0 health = Dying

So basically if you add health by modding, or stack general health boost effects (not disease or fertility resistance) then you only inflate the lifespan. There always is a soft cap though due to ticking health loss chances with advancing age.

What? I see nothing like this in any of my games lol

Maybe stop using mods or cheats.

If you get some good traits, with custom ruler (400 limit) and is lucky with events. You can reach 100+ fairly often, tho not much above 100 as the health degrade a lot when reaching that.

Not ingame, so don't know the names of the traits in my head. But example Herculeas

the 30 or 40 children thing is an outright lie since the hard cap is lower than that

you can have more children since events where you lay with your wife(s) and seducing her bypasses the limit

If you can stack health enough (and dodge the insta-death events / avoid a run ending stress event) you can theoretically live forever there's no in game age where you automatically die. There is a practical limit though because there's a finite amount of health buffs. And once you get past a certain point you need significantly more health buffs too because you'll reach the point where you're guaranteed to lose .1 health a month.

I think the mechanic of becoming infirm was also added / changed after this thread was made.

So most characters now become infirm if they don't die before that.

oldest i had was a 97 character (could have made him live longer if i could get book artifacts with health boosts (was very lucky with strong trait and athletic and many health increase events during hutns and feasts)
