High renown dynasties in 867 or 1066?
I usually like to start the game from scratch. But lately I've been interested in starting out in an already established dynasty, but with some renown generation already in place. I'd still like to start out preferably as a count. Are there any such characters. I know there's at least one Karolingian duke in 867, but are there interesting underdogs in otherwise established dynasties?

There is a Karling count in 1066(count of vermendois) Also the countess Sophia of Bar also in 1066 who is from a house of the Karling Dynasty, the dynasty itself in 1066 start out at "well-known", 390 starting renown with 2.92 per month due to 21 living members, 2 counts, 2 dukes, 4 counts by marriage and a baron by marriage

There are alot of counts in the 867 scenario that start out as a house of the Karlings but even though the Karlings start in 867 with much higher starting renown and renown generation, with all the Karling kings, it would be lifetimes till u ever became the dynasty head.

At least in 1066 with the Karling count, you'll only have to wait a short while to overtake the starting dynasty head, the Duke of lorraine for that title

Edit: Also in 1066, there are several remnants of the legendary Sigurdr dynasty (the sons of Ragnarr from 867) kicking around.a few of them starting as a count(the count of Guines in Guines, Flanders, France being one of the few of the top of my head that start as counts, also the old as dirt, countess of Devon in Cornwall, England)

They start off Reputable, with 882 starting renown with 3.89 monthly generation cuz of 38 living members, 1 king, 2 dukes, 3 counts and a count by marriage)

But again, will be long while before ever taking head of dynasty thanks to the king of Denmark
