Discord crash and game freeze

so my game keeps causing discord to crash in the background, and whilst in multiplayer it causes me to crash, tends to happen around january i'll be stuck on a random date and the game will keep running for others in mp game

Involing discord and game crashing, I think there are three potential issues:

1.) Hardware acceleration.
2.) corrupted appdata in your cache.
3.) Discord Overlay bug.

1.) Hardware acceleration is discord using your graphics card in conjunction with the game. CK3 is a gas guzzler, so if your GPU isn't amazing, the combination of the two could be causing the crash. You can turn that off in advanced options

2.) A bit more complicated but you have to go to %appdata% and delete everything in there, I'm not smart enough to tell you this step but you can google it or another kind individual can walk you through.

3.) Overlay bug. a clean reinstall or update.
