Getting Viking raider trait, 2 Q's

Someone told me that you get it by leading troops on raids. Does anyone know how many raids it takes?

Also, can this trait happen to anyone? Like if i make my son the leader, will he get the trait? If i made some random great warrior the leader will he or is it only for the people ruling? My gut says anyone, but i would like to be sure.

I can say I've ever seen my heir get the raider trait without being a ruler.

a lot of randomness in the algorithm. can get in a few months after 20 raids led, or take more raids and longer delay. Every +10 raids increase your odds, but the algorithm can randomly check rarely.

To clarify, Does that mean 10 counties raided, or 10 times out with a full haul of gold?

you can get it after 20 raids, but the odds get better after, 30, 40, 50 raids. odds are, coincidentally, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% respectively. The game will check again in 180 to 545 days.

51 and above raids won't improve your odds. just need to wait at that point.

20 raids = 20 castles sacked. (I suppose cities and churches count too).
