That said, even if you can take both, the same effects don't stack. If 2 traditions have the same effect, it only uses the better of them, it doesn't add the effect together.
I think, but I'm not certain, that the additional effects from hirds will be retained, but the compounding of effects doesn't happen.
Can anyone confirm?
Looking at the wiki, it might actually be possible to have both Hirds and Coastal Warriors. They don't list each other as being mutually exclusive, but have some of the same other traditions listed as being about not being taken in conjunction with them (namely Warrior Culture). So it looks like I was incorrect and you should be able to take both. However, the Strong trait effect won't stack. You'll effectively just get each of their unique things and all of the same effects will act as if you only have the one tradition
