There are trinkets that reduce it: the impact of it.

Perks too, 4 example if you are a Diplomat having Friends lowers stress: it's like a cheat.
Your Court has 'stress option pills'. Etc...:steamhappy:

The left branch of the Medicine tree, there are two perks which specifically deal with stress. Medicine is my favorite tree because Know Thyself is my favorite perk, I always go into Medicine around 45 or 50 years old.

It depends on your characters personality, but befriend perk or ritualized friendship in your culture, make friends, hold feasts. This leads to lots of stress loss for most characters. Even more stress loss if you are gregarious.

If you got a sadistic character going down torture tree and then getting captives from holy wars to torture is free stress loss, once you got the perk that removes piety cost you can do it to anyone. The dread gain allows you to pick less stressful options when it comes to terrified vassals as they won't join factions, which means less stress overall.

Having brave and going hunting lets you double up on stress loss from feasts too.

Yeah it could backfire quickly lol. but then again anything could backfire in this game. Make friends your own age or younger, and try not to have too many serving as knights/champions at one time and you should be able to manage it.

If your character has a shy trait, he's likely to get stressed big time. Diligent characters can also have trouble in that area. Another thing to watch for are child characters who have the charming trait. If you try to arrange a Peer Meet and no one shows up, he'll gain stress. Similarly if your character is gregarious, he'll gain stress if you're trying to sway someone but the sway fails. OTOH, if your character has the forgiving trait, you can forgive hooks in exchange for reduced stress.

Another thing to try is to challenge someone to a game of chess since there's an option that the winner will get rid of some stress. In my last playthrough one of my rulers had a daughter who i noticed was at level 2 stress (there's a mod that lets you see other characters' stress levels) so i challenged her to a game and intentionally loss so that she could de-stress a bit.

Stack Greedy with Golden Aplomb and try to float at Stress Level 2. You'll be swimming in money.

LoL, i feared i was setting myself up for a comment like that. Well what can i say, sometimes i get a little too immersed in the game :D
Just look at what ways you can use personality traits to your advantage.

For ex. Honest.
You can have a spymaster find 50 different secrets in france's or some other big kingdom's court.
Then.
Reveal them all and lose massive stress

Going through the diplomatic family and kin lifestyle is has increased stress relief as perks. Build up your friend network. But that takes a lot of time.

Don't take this perk, this perk currently is bugged as hell, because it can kill you after you have recovered from an deadly wound or illness.

And the way the perk is working, when ever you would die, you get another 1 year and then the perk kills you even you have perfect health.
