You just take them all then you can just usurp or form the kingdom title like any other

Make sure you usurp or create the kingdom title before you give away the extra duchies over your limit.

If I were you, I'd conquer those duchies, destory duchy titles, hand counties out to vassals preferably from my own house, and wouldn't create the kingdom title. There aren't many cases, in which you need to create second kingdom titles actually.

ok. thank you. why wouldnt you create kingdom titles? when you say "from my own house" do you mean family and courtiers? sorry... silly question maybe!

If you already have one kingdom title (what I figured out, because you mentioned duchy limit), then additional titles would make Partition and High Partition worse for you, and if you have Confederate Partition, then you just spend money for some prestige, because that title would be created anyway. Though if you really want that kingdom to go away from your realm after succession, then create it. Or maybe it may be a role-play way to play for you, if you create the kingdom. Or if you need two kingdom titles to create an empire, then create it.

By "House" I mean the part of your dynasty that you control being it's house head. Dynasties consist of houses in ck3. The more house members your house has and more house members are landed (mostly counts, because dukes+ create cadet branches), the more you get prestige as a house head. Not to mention, that being house head and/or dynasty head gives you more leveges on vassals of your house and/or dynasty. Hooks, disinheriting, denouncing, claiming titles, that stuff.

There is never a reason to destroy duchy titles. If you're a Duke you can hold as many duchies as you want. If you're King or Emperor than you can just give them away. Also, you need two Kingdoms to form an Empire

"Divide and rule" - that's what I think is the most important in holding power. Giving away any duchies is just making you weak and vurnerable. As I said, getting prestige from many count-vassals is pretty nice, and being their house head gives a lot of power. Be the king, not the first among equals.
