Regardless, generally the challenge of CK3 is keeping your realm togerher; not building it.
the entire game is easy mode outside of that specific situation.
There is difficulty in Tibet, China areas of map. Problem religion with Equal inheritance + concubines. Nothing scream failure louder than having 10 - 15 kids all of them inheriting in first succession.
I agree this game is an embarrassment compared to other grand strategy titles. Its way too easy. What makes it worse is the devs seem content of making it a "one size fits all game" bc there is no way of increasing the difficulty
But that renown.
Yep, totally agree. Not only because of all the stuff you mentioned but also because Tibet is the largest non-formed empire and it's all mountains. It basically forces you to be defensive or, if you go on the offensive, to pay a pretty steep price when replacing your casualties.
But playing as the Han is pretty fun. They don't have the same mountain stuff going on, but, still, Tibet's a pain to form.
Yeah, it'd be cool if they had more outward difficulty settings like giving the ai more men at arms or more aggressiveness. But we do have realm stability.
You are absolutely right with equal inheritance there is at least something useful to use that renown like disinherit +10 kids.
But playing equal inheritance ruler is more challenge than your average male dominated catholic ruler that can be agreed?
In my recent Iron Man playthrough I had 50,000 troops and another 40,000 from 2 separate allies vs 70,000+ Mongols. They have very powerful troops.
You can play at your own pace and enjoy the Role Playing, but if you want world domination, you need to bulk up quick, including getting your succession laws settled, and economy built up strong.
