Is there a mod that limits certain imagery in CoA?
Hi all,

my request is about the Swastika. I understand its history, and importance in the Eastern World, but for some odd mathematical reason, my recent games have had a slew of CoA formed with it as a central piece.

Besides the automatic thoughts attached to it due to its dark history, I'm just very tired of always seeing it. Is there a mod or save-edit trick I could use to just...get more variety in other symbols?

I know I can manually change it (if they're noble houses under my king, etc), but I would simply like to lessen the steps I have to take xD.

Thank you!

Yea, that's what I do (if it annoys me that much), but I was hoping if there was a way with less steps xD.
Thank you for your response!

You can try Cat's Coats of Arms, he changes a lot of coats of arms. That might eliminate some of the ones you do not like and be replaced with better ones.

Not a direct answer to your question, but just my two cents. In my experience, the switching back and forth makes the game unstable. I've had the game crash multiple times when doing this only occasionally. Just be sure to save frequently when you're doing your switching or time your switches for right after the automatic January 1st save that the game makes.

There is a difference in the nazi Swastika vs Northern and Eastern ones.
afaik, the main difference is the former one is tilted whilst others are not.
Secondary, but don't quote me on this one, it is reversed.

Yea, I know the historical context, but even if symbolism originally meant one thing, society turns it to mean another thing, and then that original symbol has a bad taste to it, ya know? I rather just not see it, and similar symbols :X.

No i dont know. Why should a group of people that have been using a symbol for hundreds of years be forced to stop because another group of people did something bad with a similar looking symbol?

Do you truly not know, or are you being sarcastic? Not everyone can be Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, many would prefer instead to walk within the lines of social acceptance. Sadly symbols and imagery change over the course of time. A contemporary example of this is "The Thin Blue Line." Another examples that might resonate with the Twitch community is PogChamp. Retrospectively, you might find it silly, I do, but remember people are social creatures and susceptible to social pressure.

Also, no one is FORCING you to stop because another group of people did something bad, unless it is against the Laws of the country you inhabit (Germany, for example, or Islamic countries with the depiction of Mohammad).

why are people still afraid of swastikas ?

anyways - I think you could mod it away by replacing the "swastika" .. dunno never thought about that

If it's relevant in the context of a particular game/book/movie I honestly couldn't care less. Whats with this generation trying to erase history to protect their oh so sensitive minds? I'm guessing OP would have a seizure if he played HOI? That said - your game - do whatever you want. *shrug*

OP's question has been answered; I don't think there's anything productive to be gained from continuing the thread at this point.
