Adamite conversion rate is stupid overpowered
title.

It's pretty stupid for the entirety of the Byzanite and Francian empires to turn Adamite in the span of two decades. King and Empire level resistance to heresy is stupid low. Losing crusades because defensive ai is somehow 9000x smarter than attacking AI? fine. Losing crusades because half of europe decided to say ♥♥♥♥ the pope and run around naked? absurd.

Lets be real, the only reason its so OP is because the devs wanted (you) to jerk off.

It's not just adamite religion. Every heresy spreads like fire. Andevery count converting aslo instantly converts his county. In my game it's most orthodox or catharism. But it is ok, as i can either force them back, holy war or revoke them. But most time i really dont care in what my people believe, as there is a lifestyle perk almost negating opinion hit.

Yeah I always feel like heresy in this game feels like Whack-a-Mole, but unless heresy is purged at once, it will spread everywhere.

One damn count, that you fail to spot, can spread his filth a long way. If a neighbouring king or an emperor converts, you may even be out of luck.

Also the syncretism trait can get out of hand with marriages and what not.

Heresies happen if your faith is under 40% fervor, and every heretic ruler increases the fervor by 15%. So this is the "fix" for the problem of huge aggressive faiths being always so low on fervor that they cannot convert counties or launch GHWs.

Only thing i see as a real problem, when the heresies are non-hostile so you can't revoke vassals or holy war neighbors. Like Orthodoxy in France should never happen from a game balance perspective.

Note that only abrahamic faiths can have heresies to begin with, so e.g. the eastern faiths who are always "astray" to each other will never have the problem.

There’s an option to keep heresy historical. That should help some.

Catholic fervor hasn't been below 75% my entire playthrough

Adamite spreads much faster because it has a +50% conversion rate for "same culture." Guess what, literally every single AI ruler is same culture as their counties. If they don't start that way they are within 5 years. Only time this isn't the case is kings where still 60%+ of their realm is their culture, and they still convert those parts so fast that it doesn't matter. Duke and Count level its 100% guaranteed. County resistance to heresy conversion is absurdly unrealistically ahistorically low.

I'm not sure there is a difference between Adamitism and other heresies, but perhaps the problem is that Adamites can pop up anywhere Christian, whereas e.g. Lollards or Cathars need it to be a Catholic place and Bogolimists need it to be an Orthodox part of the world or else they won't appear? So then you see Adamites all over the map, from the perspective of several (or several dozen) campaigns played.

My experience, too, is that there is simply too much Adamitism in the game, where there isn't so much Bogomilism or Catharism or Lollardy, though I don't know to what extent this is subjective and accidental and to what extent is objective and stable.

My general observation is that Paradox struggles with figuring out or implementing the right MTTHs for the variuos things in the game (events, checks, etc.) and other numerical aspects of balancing. Personally, I wish the developers cared more about the end result and felt obliged to fix the balancing when things get out of hand.
