Every single Event is broken/bugged.
So first time I've played CK3 since the new Royal Court expansion..... the game is utterly unplayable. When having any sort of confirmation of a diplomatic event (marriage/betrothal or the establishment of a royal court upon reaching kingdom tier or even random events all are breaking for me.

Leaving a essentially blank slate with zero buttons to interact with. The marriages/royal court/etc all happen. But I'm left with blank windows that are impossible to interact with and just sit there only able to be dragged around with. This means the game is perpetually paused and I can't do anything. Breaking the game.

War interactions via declaring war and making peace all work fine though. But anything else with the beige "scroll" style event popups, births/royal court with the detailed/scenery backgrounds to them all break.

I thought it was initially my first save but it wasn't. It has happened three times now. I've turned off all mods and even verified game cache after totally uninstalling and redownloading the game. Same thing happens. Even used a standard character who is not a customized ruler. Same sort of things. Event windows totally pozzed and unable to be interacted with.

Is This expansion just totally bugged for me or what?

My guess is one of your mods are not compatible with the game. Try uninstalling all your mods and deleting the mods folder. Then verify and start a new game to see if things work better. Royal Court broke a lot of mods. If that doesn't fix it I'm at a loss.

Definitely sounds like a mod issue. If you don't have any, try verifying files.

Told you guys in my post. Disabled any and all mods. Did a fresh install. Verified Game files before and after doing so. Same issue persisted. Legit already said tried those things in the post. Have had bugs resolved via those methods before. Thats the entire point of the post.

Fresh as in completely deleted everything manually from the CK3 folders?

If so, I don't know what to tell you. Missing UI elements is definitely not due to the patch alone, otherwise the forum would be filled with posts about it.

Yeah - simply uninstalling a game from steam leaves everything that wasn't "officially" installed behind. You have to manually delete save files, mods etc.

Might be it. Didnt nuke the whole folder first. Could well be that. Will get back to you on it. I've done so with Darkest Hour CTD-ing perviously and it worked as a fix. Didn't think of it this time (mightve been like 3-4 years ago? So forgot that was a possible fix). Will nuke the workshop folder for the game to be sure too. Got work here first so won't know till tonight. Thanks on that one.

To make it clear. However you installed mods back then you need to unsubscribe. If for example you used the steam workshop then use it to unsubscribe everything. Its best to restart steam afterwards.
Assuming you are on windows: Manually check your mod folder. Press win+r and in the comand prompt enter %userprofile% and press enter. Then navigate Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\mod and make sure that folder is empty. You can manually delete here, but if you are still subscribed you run the risk of redownloading.
In the paradox launcher check if your playset is now empty and test the game.

I wiped all of them and did a fresh reinstall as was discussed with others... Things working fine now.

I'm not sure what was wrong. (Something akin to mod load order issues like Skyrim has? no idea tbh).

But Everything as it was before. Events working fine. Doing a full deletion of the game folder AND workshop and a fresh reinstall of the workshop items after the reinstalling the game fixed it. Never tweaked the workshop stuff so not sure what happened. Maybe the new patch when installing screwed with some of the mods in some way?

But its all good now. Thanks for the reminder about cleaning out workshop folders for a fresh install. Likely was it.

This same problem occured to me today. I simply deleted two mods that i thought might be somewhat related to the issue: A biography mod, and a royal court free roam camera mod. I just deleted these from the playset that i use. After these steps, everything worked fine again.
