Earldom = County?
Can't see any mention of Earldoms in the in-game wiki. Plenty of Earls about though here in Ireland. Is this just some local jargon for Count?

Also have an infestation of 'Mayors'. Anyone know what this title is equivalent to? Thanks.

Mayors are city-barons
Barons are castle-barons
Church-barons also have a name (heavily based on culture)

I don't know it it for sure, but I think the word Earl is related to the nordic Jarl

Edit: I asked Google now and it is related

Thanks, that's a very useful page. Except they left the poor Irish out! However the English System seems closest, and fits with May-N-Egg's list

And petty king is also used for all European Independent dukes btw.

Like they are a king just a small poor king i guess.

I think petty king are only independent dukes.

But yeah, Jarl is a duchy lvl title in Norse, but a country lvl title in Irish(Earl) but then again, Scandinavia was pretty depopulated and large, so Jarls held more territory, not neccesarily more people.
