The game would be far better if they were hidden for most of it. revealing them over time as you learn characters.
It's funny thought people calling the AI stupid because they are going for aliances verse gaming the DNA system to make godlike characters.. What a boring game that would be a every family full of godlike traits.. It's not age of mythology it's CKIII
That would be true, if the alliances the A.I made were anywhere remotely actually useful most of the time.
But that's not what happens at any level below the Biggest players of the map, The son of your Jarl on the coast of Norway will marry a High chieftess's daughter from the a** end of nowhere in Siberia because he has 1500 levies which the A.I adds up to slightly bigger army then marrying say the daughter of a neighboring chief with 600 levies who is actually in a position to help/join wars.
Meaning they'll start endless meaningless wars that yes, if it was 2500 vs 1700 it would be a victory. But because to get that number where the actual war is happening said Siberian High Chief needs to haul a** from all the way from freaking Siberia, the alliance is useless.
I've litterally seen idiot A.I try to attack my territories to take a county while all their alliances to make up the numbers are in nowhere near any position to help... and the war is over before any of these allies ever reach the field.
Allied A.Is are the same too, If I'm playing say Upplond or Saejland, with normal diplomatic range. You can easily marry the daughter of the King of Novgorod or some other place even further.
And the A.I will always take into account your troops when deciding to go into offensive wars, and will always ignore the fact that you might be very much occupied somewhere else much further.
For example, in one play through I was playing the Jarl of Iceland going to form Norway. I married my third daughter with the King of Novgorod. Not for the alliance but because I was hoping that I might be able to do the dynasty of many crowns decision by having her son take the throne of Novgorod.
But the king of Novgorod started a war with some meaningless duchy in West Russia, WHILE I was in the middle in an invasion of the Kingdom of Ireland and in no position whatsoever to provide any help.
And he kept doing this over and over, calling me for support into wars that there was no realistic way for me to help because he always did this while I was in my own wars.
The A.I is not smart at all
Edit: after a few playthroughs of this I always turn the diplomatic range down as much as possible to force everywhere to marry within as realistic distance as possible.
My holy order is known as the Bene Gesserit.
I AM the Bene Gesseritt.
But what does that have to do with CK3?
