Executing Hostile Faith Prisoners Not Giving Dread?
Executing ashari prisoners does not add dread. Playing the Empire of Britannia, with a catholic emperor that has the temperate, chaste, and just traits. I have the baseline anglo-saxon culture with the following active traditions: witenagemot, city keepers, hirds, maritime mercantilism, and monastic communities

I used to be able to gain dread from executing hostile faith prisoners, but not anymore. This has been going on for around three rulers now. Am i missing something here?

Makes more sense this way. Why would your people care your executing a character of another faith that they didn't know exist it wouldn't affect them at all.

I think there was something in the patch notes about no longer getting dread for certain prisoners, but I could be mistaken
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Perhaps you should be awarded piety for smiting unbelievers instead? :)

And maybe more if you force them to convert :)

Can confirm. Only count characters and up give dread now. Thanks for clarifying!

While it makes more sense it also becomes much harder to obtain dread.
The cost of executing vassals is too high, but at the same time dread is sometimes needed for playing. I think even if you execute rebelling vassals and stuff you get opinion penalty from your bishop and the victims family members, the piety cost of like 100 every time and tyranny.
Do I remember that correctly?

Micro tinkering at its worst imo.

Btw, if they go that route it would be fun to have an event/mod like, statute and example and you chop someones head off for 20 dread or so.

executioner gives dread with public execution. you are limited to once every five years, though.

If you have a royal court, you can display reforged weapons to passively generate dread. They give 3, 6, 9, and 12 depending on the rank. You can then pick the first intrigue legacy perk for a passive 15 dread.

With 4 brown weapons giving +3 dread each, you will get 27 dread right off the bat. That can go all the way up to 60 or more if you manage to craft purple/blue weapons with lots of dread.

I have only noticed control gain unless it's a vassal then it's dread and control gain I could be wrong I'll double check
