How to fix long load times?
This game loads for too long to the point i stopped the game through task manager, i've played stellaris and in that game the load times aren't this bad. Other games too didn't load this long with the except of no man sky in my experience.

Any advices other than installing an ssd?
recommending someone to buy an ssd just for a single game imo is stupid, same thing happened with rust players (rust also have long load times 8 mins min or more for me and there's tons of games loads fast even in a hdd.

The game decompresses the first time you boot it up after a fresh restart of your computer, and should be faster every load after that. So either buy an SSD, or don't ever shut off your computer.

That's the price of playing games without loading screens; there's a lot of front-loading going on to ensure everything is seemless. Effectively, the devs have actually already done as much HDD optimization as possible. If that's not good enough for you, it's time to upgrade that dinosaur storage.

At this point an SSD is standard in computers. How old is your computer?

Something changed with RC. I went from about 1 minute to boot but now it takes about 5. I do have an SSD.

My load times became greatly reduced when I disabled cloud saves

SSD is not really a standard if i still can find many games not relying on a ssd to run, optimized games at least.

My computer is a prebuilt alienware pc an old model and its warranty has expired for 7+ years. Got this old junk from someone selling it.

I played stellaris and in that game the load times isn't this bad. Its even possible that stellaris is a much bigger game yet runs much more smoother and better than ck3.

You can try to explain away the issue all you want, but that's not going to solve your problem. No one's going to come around and give you some magic solution to your old hardware that isn't "don't have old hardware."

A reasonably sized SSD is pretty cheap these days. It's worth it to upgrade, especially as it's an investment across the board and not tied to a specific game or program.

There's a lot of non-game related stuff that can slow down load times like having an anti-virus (most anti-viruses have a way to exclude programs like CK3 from being scanned every time it opens. Even McAfee despite its desperate attempt to hide all functionality), floating mods, old saves, also if you have multiple steam files over different drives.

If it's still too long, CK3 is very supportive of multiple monitors, and sometimes the best advice is just to open up a video on your phone or second monitor. The in game music can't be better than whatever you usually watch.

In addition every mod you have adds to the load time, sometimes quite a bit to it. So if you're running mods that might be part of it. (though like they said above it mostly depends on your computer. I run with around 90 mods, which if I play on my laptop takes it at least 10-15 mins to load whereas on my tower it's only a minute, maybe 2 tops.)

SSD are standard equipment for... 10 years now?

The first game which directly relied on an SSD was Diablo III, released in 2012

Basically everything which doesn't fit fully into your RAM, has frequent loading screens, or uses asset streaming, absolutely should be put on an SSD.

Buddy, this old hardware can many games with almost no load issues, including games like stellaris or any other open world game or any other cpu heavy games.

Explain to me why would stellaris with all the dlc bs installed still runs faster than ck 3 then?

How can i run mods if i haven't even played the game past the starting loading screen? Game loads too long to the point where i ended the game through task manager, havent reach the main menu even.
