Norse or Norwegian early?
So I started a new game as a viking, i forget the name of the land but it's the one a few counties up the coast, sorta in the middle before it bends around the arctic. At anyrate my first king only lasted 8 years and he never even had a son. His oldest daughter inherited the lands and she already has Norwegian culture. I honestly didn't even notice it till i kept hearing about the peasants uprising but i was not to worried about it. I finally tracked it down to the culture being the issue.

I read the traits of the different culture and there are good and bad with both i think. My plan for the game was to invade to GB and perhaps culture flip wales or perhaps use that adventure thing to give it a try. But now with my culture already started so early it has me wondering if i should just ball up to a king and have a culture war with Sweden.

I'm not really asking for help persay, just more what do you think i should go for?

One other quick Q, my second ruler is barely 5 years in and already has had 3 children, that's fine but all inherited the dwarf trait. (is this odd for traits to get passed down so easy? I'm closing in on 100 hours so not a huge amount of time but i have not had this happen before) Was this made easier or tweaked or did i just get a whole bunch of "luck" rolls for it to happen? So far of the 5 dwarves in the kingdom all are girls so that roller isn't locked hehe.

Perhaps something like a mod failure.

If you start in 867, the Norse culture is forced to split in the year 1000. Only way to prevent this is to hold something like 80% of all Norse counties on the map. This would also force you to become e.g. Swedish if you only hold land in England.

In 1066 the cultures are already split in Scandinavia, with the only remains of the Norse residing in Iceland.

Was the 867 start, never installed a mod. It was his first daughter that was over 16 at the start that was already Norwegian. You know how some people are not married but still have kids at the start? it was one of those. I figured it wouldn't mater as we would most likely have a son but he didn't, just a couple more girls.

Seems like a bug then, as mentioned the culture split isn't supposed to exist at this start date.

I always turn the generated families off, so there aren't any random characters on the map.

That's not true In my current playthrough I started as the chieftain of the Isle of Mann and when the split happened I stayed norse and even now I've reached the 1250's and I'm still norse even if my culture is high medieval age with the empire of Britannia I hold

Ok, I tired to restart, and she is Norwegian again.. So is this not suppose to be the case and i should "bug" it? here is a screenie of the start point, maybe check if it's the same on yours if you could, I prefer bugs be fixed but over all this one doesn't seam to harmful though i guess playing early Norwegian might be different, i dunno. The culture is different for sure in this one.

So if this is an actual bug, should i try to fix my play and swap her back to Norse? isn't there an easy way to do this early in the game? I'm a bit rusy on CKIII, but i thought there was some sorta event thing or something to flip it to the main culture.
