Best Way to Give All Titles to My Heir?
Is there a trick to it? Unfortunately I didn't find out that I can't murder my sons till I had 6 of them, and now everything is going to go everywhere since I'm tribal. Is there a way to stop all but 1 of them from inheriting? I know how to disinherit them, but that takes 100 renown, I only have 150.

You could try to let them get killed in battle as a one man army. Never worked for me - i guess the odds are not that great.
A more reliable way for me was to imprison them and execute. That way you get bad opinion because of tyrany though.
I guess you don't have access to "Take the vows" since you are tribal. It would be an option without killing involved when negotiating release after imprisoning.

you could enable those elector-laws for the titles in question.

I don't think tribals can do that.

Certain tribals can - i.e. Scandinavian elections, but those usually don't solve confederate partition problems when you have too many sons. The heir get the title but not all the counties associated with it.

Can they enable or disable them though? I'm genuinely asking. Don't have the game installed right now, and democracy's really not my bag in these kinds of games, so I'm going by the wiki which says, "Feudal Rulers can apply a Title Succession Law on Duchy, Kingdom or Empire titles at the cost of 1500 Prestige." ( https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Laws#Title_Succession ). I tend to trust the wiki but maybe it's wrong?

If you die your heir gets your titles, but maybe the siblings get some depending on your succession law

Usually thats the best way to do it

Thanks everyone. I decided to just download a mod that gives you Premogeniture from the start, I hate this partition crap.

- The wiki obviously talks about Feudal Elections which are indeed limited to Feudal rulers. Scandinavian, Tanistry and Saxon Elections are not limited to Feudal Rulers. From personal experience.
- 867 Alba and any Norse Kingdom are tribal and has access to Saxon Elections and Scandinavian elections, accordingly.
- There's no reason to pick any other election method besides Feudal Election unless you're tribal.
- I always go for elections as soon as my realm is large enough since it's the only way to choose a heir for multiple titles without mass murder/disinherit and without absolute crown authority.

You can disinherit a family member. This works great if there are only two set up to inherit (ie, you have 2 sons). I did this when I wanted to clear the way for a much better second son. The only catch is you have to have a sufficient dynasty score to do so.

Dealing with succession is half the fun.

Other ways to handle this is for example if your religion does not have Monasticism for take the vows, you can reform it to have it. Then imprison the heirs you do not want, and force them to take vows on condition of release. Or raise the younger ones under learning since they are more likely to accept taking vows.

Alternative to imprison and execute, is the imprison then Torture. Since those combine give a fairly major health penalty which can result in them dying naturally due to poor health.
Or if you are certain cultures, you can castrate the heir which stops them for inheriting.

Eh... No it’s not. I came here to grow my dynasty and take some land along the way.

I didn’t come here to play “Murder All of My Sons Simulator.”

I think they should create a tab with the succession, and each character has their own ambition, of what they would like to get and what do you prefer to give them. For example if they will end up being rivals because you want to give one certain things etc, and you need to use hooks. (EVERYONE watch the tv show SUCCESSION, Brian cox is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome)
Because the problem right now, there is not way to understand how each land go to whom. I think it will be rally nice a big update, or expansion giving the player more control of what you want to do before the character dies. In that case it would be really fun, because you will have to role play around what you want and what the AI wants.

The problem is : confederate partition makes no sense. It just create an event that does not make sense. Partition is annoying mostly because I don't understand how the AI divides your lands, and High Partition, is not a problem for me.

If you start with a religion that gives equal gender for inheritance, you can always switch it up (using 500 Prestige) to switch between male/female-dominant ruler, especially if you've only a single daughter from amongst all the other sons. It's one of the best way unless you specifically only want male to inherit.

Another method is to take the Learning lifestyle, go down the left most tree (Whole of Body), until you unlock Restraint where you can go Celibate. Just don't host too many Feasts because if you get Reveller, you can't go Celibate. At least this way if you've got the son you want, then go Celibate and all is good.

Using renown to disinherit is by far the worst option when dealing with partition. Here are some alternatives:

1) If your religion has holy orders you can send extra heirs to a holy order to disinherit them.
2) If your religion has monasticism tenet you can make extra heirs take monk vows to disinherit them.
3) If your religion has theocratic clergy with temporal clerical appointment you can make one of your heirs court chaplain to disinherit them.
4) If you have less daughters than sons you can reform into an equal or female dominated religion and use female preference inheritance.
5) If your realm is going to split on succession you can make sure to have some cash stocked up to press claims on the breakaway realms with your heir.
6) If your realm is not going to be split on succession but you would lose most of your personal domain to secondary heirs you can pre-grant them duchies (or kingdoms if you are an emperor) outside of your personal domain to keep the core lands for your main heir.

And for your next character you can just make sure to not have as many heirs either by:

a) adopting celibacy after one or two children,
b) divorcing and not re-marrying after one or two children
c.1) marrying older women close to infertility (if playing as a male ruler),
c.2) postponing marriage until you are older (if playing as a female ruler),
or d) not marrying at all and instead using lovers and legitimized bastards to create heirs.

There are a LOT of ways to deal with partition succession, and partition is an integral part of the game. It's a feature not a bug.

That being said there is no wrong way to play a game like CK3 and if modding partition out makes it more enjoyable for you that is totally valid.
