Prussia
Hey everyone <3
Brand new to CK3, had a kinda basic questions and 1 general statement...

First off, I just wanna say that I felt the tutorial was less than helpful. Am I alone in this regard? Anyone else feel the tutorial didnt prepare them for gameplay? Like, at all?
"Here is a couple basic ideas, this is how to sway someone, now go out and make history! You got this!"

Anyway, my question is about Prussia. Im originally from Germany so im a Fanatical German patriot. I wanted to play as Prussia, but I see the Prussia in the game isnt the Germanized Prussia we think of when we think of Prussia.
As time goes on in game, will I be able to slowly change the religion/culture etc to match the "Germanic" Prussia ?

Any tips on how to do that type of thing? Im coming from EU4, and I know CK3 is more about playing as a character/dynasty rather than a nation, but id still like to do that. is it possible/practical?

You won't be getting a Prussia, in the EU4 sense. But you certainly can conquer the duchy of Prussia, as a germanic leader and rule it as... well, a german Prussia.

You would do so, by playing as a germanic count, fabricating a claim on one of Prussias counties and going from there. Or declaring a holy war, to gain the duchy that way.

If your starting in the 867 start, there is no HRE to speak of, so you could seize Prussia and maybe expand it to become it's own kingdom by using the found a [custom] kingdom decision.

Or you could play in the later start date and play as a german ruler within the HRE and work towards getting the duchy of Prussia title.

You can declare independence from the HRE or remain a part of it/seize control of it.

You know, the usual.

Royal Court will let you make your own cultures so you can create a Germanic Prussian culture and go all Teutonic Order/Kaiserboo on the Baltic people once that comes out. The release date is currently sometime later than soon but sooner than never. Though I have before started as the duke of Prussia with a created ruler who had a Central Gemanic culture and rushed like hell to get all of de jure Pomerania and then used the create kingdom option to make the Kingdom of Prussia. In practice it was really boring and unrewarding compared to just reforming the HRE.
The tutorial they supplied is one of the better ones, they normally just throw you into the deep end where you have to learn via youtube xD

As for Prussia, Prussia as you know it from EU4 does not exist, the "prussians" in which Prussia is named after exists, but they were pretty much geocide off the earth by the Teutonic Order (brutal Midieval History )

TRUE Prussians were Baltic, not German. Though about this time period is when we see German Prussia start to form after the Germans kick the Prussians out of Prussia :b

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prussia_(region)

(Bavaria exists though and they're far superior than those Northern Pansies! >> << >>)

But yea, you'd have to create your own German conquest of Prussia. Culture/religion conversion is a complicated thing that's about to change when the expansion drops...
But...

Basically your council helps with that, and then you have decisions which you can exchange for prestige. I THINK it's steward that converts culture? And the priest = religion.
