confederate partition question
Im trying to figure something out, when my character died, he was the kirgiz khanate leader, usually when i die in ck3 i lose some territory, in addition to a few personal holdings, but this time, i only lost personal holdings and did not lose any territor, is it because this empire starts with no kingdom titles? if i create kingdom titles in the future will my empire split when i die?

Confederate partition creates new titles when you have enough de jure land, and this is what causes loss of territory, for example if you are the king of scotland but you take 7 counties of ireland and die, the confederate partition will create the kingdom of ireland (assuming it hasn't been created already) and presumably you'd lose those 7 counties to one of your siblings as they become independent.

In your case it sounds like you have an empire title. Confederate partition only tries to create new titles equal to your primary title. In order to see your empire split, you'd have to take a lot of counties something like at least 40 if if not more within another empire's de jure territory.

So no, if you create kingdom titles but you're already an emperor, your empire won't split along kingdom lines. It's only if you take too much territory on an empire-level scale or create a new empire that your empire will split.
"Upon succession, all titles held by the late ruler will be divided amongst their eligible children, with the player heir always being given the primary title, realm capital and any direct de jure titles associated with it.

Younger children will be given titles starting with those of the same rank as the primary title, if none are available they will be given lower-ranking titles. Children can not be preemptively granted titles they do not stand to inherit.

Younger children will have titles created for them, if enough land is held."

Understanding your succession law and frequent use of the successions tab (3rd tab in the realm menu (green crown, top right)) will help you figure out what titles you'll lose prior to succession.
