The black death plague event is very shallow
It is like ooooooh there is a break, he and them got infected. Then he dies and she survives. OOOOOOOOH you died. then you play as your heir. OOOOOOH he survived.
Bruh, it feels so shallow. It would be better if some special events occur, like some heresy spreading, claiming that "it is gods punishment because we did not worship him well" and some peasant jumping up to a revolt because "it is the king's fault we are in this state" , plus the general atmosphere and the map changing into reddish green/brown/etc. Also, it would be better if there was a huge penalty in gold and levies for what is going on, and rulers being much less willingly to declare war and revolt on each other.

It'll probably be expanded on in an update/dlc

No, I mean that the overall event should have more flavor, not that it is disastrous.

Too bad they wasted a flavor pack with a clothing DLC.

I personally like it as it is. I despise the event already and just evict or kill the person who gets it, so I'd really not like them to expand upon it. I've actually had my game crash before because my entire court and prison got it without me noticing, and it apparently couldn't handle a prison of 100 and a large court getting it at the same time. Not to mention that it's just too harmful if it gets out of control. The one time it happened before I knew about the mechanic, my ruler, all of his children, and his heir's child died from it. I understand that adapting to crisis is a big part of this game, but having my entire royal line wiped out that quickly was just too much for me. They'll need to add more ways to survive or quarantine it if they want to expand it. As the mechanic is right now, if they expand the way it works, it'll destroy the fun for a lot of players.

+1 Although I don't like it as it is. I barely tolerate it.

I honestly agree to make this an option.

This doesn't work, once the event happens it's in your court and others can contract it even if you remove the people who are currently infected.

Pay $30 for that DLC man, and you may get the chance to discover you have the disease and you gotta kill yourself to save the people. If you expect anything else, that'l be another $30 tbh.

Go play Ck2.. It has way more depth in every aspect of everything...

Even the Black Death.. You can see it spreading from India, and slowly burning its way across the world. You can actively get ready for it, and do things to help fight against it, like keeping your provinces healthy, building hospitals, and making medicines..

It's still not 100% survive rate of course, but there's much more depth to it than just "Black death happened... he lived, she didn't. GG"

could have, but the dlc's are not very encouraging.

Did they though? The clothing DLCs were pre-order bonuses, not flavor packs. :)

But that was in the Reapers Due expansion pack. We probably have to wait for similar in CK3 for the plague to have more depth.

Yep. The only official flavor pack thus far is Northern Lords. Which does add clothing, but also more.
