Apulia 867

I have only been playing CK3 for about a week now and I am really enjoying the game but something odd happened today. I clicked on 867 The Carolingians and then Play as Any Ruler or Create Your Own in 867. Until now, I have been clicking on Apulia and climbing the learning curve before starting over, repeating the process and doing better each time on. However today when I started up a new game to try some options, Apulia was liasted as Sawdanid an Emirate and not a Sicilian Duchy named Apulia. I thought maybe I changed my setting process - nope. I reset the game to default - nope. Any help or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Apulia is a county that belongs to the duchy of apulia, but in 867 the duchy of apulia is owned by a culture that calls it the sawdanid emirate, but he doesnt actually control apulia, just the duchy title

I understand that, but for a week I was logging into the 867 Scenario the Carilingians anbd playing as Apulia as a Sicilian and NOT as a Muslim Emirate and now I can only play as an emirate. My question is why the change? I changed nothing.

Duchy of apulia is op, rn i own more than the romans did and i still have 100 years left

also in 867 start they are muslim on both the island of Sicily and the bottom of the boot, but in 1066 they arent muslim, though when you make a non muslim character it will turn the muslim emirate into a christian duchy title

If you reload that original save, then check the title history or your dynasty house. See who you started with, that might explain whatever it is

You have the solution but the oddity is that when I first started playing it was set to Apulia already. I did not have to create a character and then let it reset. Odd, but I am happy with the results, thank you.
