Not sure what I'd do specifically with the designer for ironman, but if you saved out of ironman a setup you could load that continually as a save game. Perhaps if there was a way to make a save and then click the ironman and have it check that you didn't change any settings to go beyond ironman. ?
i wasted so much time remaking builds testing things
Take that crap off the launcher!
I'm hoping, really hoping, they give us COA creation soon.
So the fictional guy on the cover of the game is okay, and the fictional guy who's stated to be the grandson of William the Conqueror is okay, but the fictional guy advertising ruler designer is no okay. I'm confused.
A baby ruler (age 0) allows you to allocate all ruler points to congenital traits and zero points to skills. Your baby evolves normally, gain skill points from education and pretty much ignores the preset limits. If you start with an adult ruler (the default) you have to allocate many ruler points to skills in order to have semi-capable ruler. With a baby, you can have a beautiful-herculean-quick ruler with decent stats (as adult) to kickstart your dynasty. In Ironman mode. :)
Intriguing! The only worry is that you can't make siblings via ruler designer, meaning you're VERY vulnerable at the start. Anyone with a claim of any kind can press it for 16 years without issue, and if anyone in your court hates you enough to take you out, it's game over.
Another possible exploit is that if you specifically choose 867 Vestrland (west Iceland) as a starting domain for your designed ruler the original ruler (Audr the deep minded), sometimes hangs around and can be recruited to your court (I don't know if it happens in other domains or just Vestrland). Audr is a quick and thus (usually) an awesome guardian for your baby ruler. She may attract even better guardian or a strong council member to your court as a spouse (she's a widow). She usually leaves your court on her own after a certain point, even if she's a council member (really annoying) but she still functions as a guardian, and her badass spouse remains with you...
I think there are very few original baby rulers on 867 and 1066, and if you play your cards right baby rarely inherits (?), so a baby designer ruler is one of the few options to experience child interactions, which are generally pretty cute.
