Gotta say, I've got a long career of save scumming games. CK 3 took me out of my comfort zone and make me accept my fate - and I have to say I appreciate the game and the mechanics so much more because of it.

Yeah getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks once in awhile sucks, but that's what keeps the game interesting and your victories so much sweeter. When you just save scum, you don't notice it, but you're actually stealing your own experience because the game gets too easy because you don't really have to play it.

Anyway, just thought i'd throw that out there. I encourage anyone out there who is an admitted save scummer such as myself try it and see that it actually brings life back to your games.

That's exactly why Paradox makes achievements Ironman-only. It encourages people to play the game as the devs intended, but without forcing permadeath on them before they're ready.

epic comebacks are what makes paradox games so great imo. definitely the type of games where losing a battle or two isnt necessarily the end of the game!

My first game on CK2 was a non ironman and then I switched to iron man ever since, it does improve the game massively because it adds consequences. Playing without is virtually like playing a game with invincibility on

Save scumming is solely for learning a game's mechanics, if at all, not winning one.

CK3's a difficult learning curve for anyone new to Paradox like me. Nevertheless, I only save scummed a couple of times before restarting on ironman and going with the blows. Learnt so much more...
