You may not be able to play on the new version, but the old version is still available so you can continue your save.
You could start a new game.
Not possible as this is a game's version issue, certain patches change too much to be compatible. This is also the reason why older versions are always available.
They haven't, not all patches affect the game in the same way.
If you want to carry on your campaign you'll need to roll to a previous compatible patch.
What I can suggest you is to port the game into 1.2.2 version first, saving the file and then booting 1.3.0 version and saving again. I cannot guarantee this will work correctly, but I hope it does!
Thank you! I know it didn't work for the other user but I'm still at least going to give this a try in case it somehow works for me. Otherwise I guess temporarily changing to old patch versions when this happens will have to work.
Just roll back then.
