Will new patch affect my old save?
Hey guys, 3 days ago we began new online campaign with a friend.
Is this new patch going to affect our campaign?
We are not interested in the flavour pack itself, since we arent playing any vikings, but mostly those reworks of renown/prestige.

It did for me. My recent old ironman save wont load at all, just crashes the game but i was in the viking area.
It'll make most characters bald. Not even joking, it's because the hair inheritance method changed. This will fix itself after a generation or two, I believe, but if you'd rather not deal with that... You can both roll back to 1.2.2 until your campaign is done by right clicking on the game in library and going to Properties -> Betas and opt in to 1.2.2. Close out the dialog and it'll start "updating" to the rolled back version.

Other than the hair, I don't think it'll affect anything else, unless you were using mods.

As of this morning I cannot load any save game pre March 16 patch

Pre-1.3 saves should load, but I would advise you to disable mods at the moment if you have any, while the modders update them to the newest version.

No.
From Paradox Support :
1.2.x saves are not save game compatible with 1.3 and will indeed crash the game, I have several reports of this now.
You must revert to 1.2.2 in the Steam betas tab for the game to continue them.
Sorry about that!
I am certain it is permanent. There were map changes between the versions, it's almost impossible to work around that.
One thing though, I couldn't even see a 1.2.2 save have under 1.3 unless I ticked the "see incompatible versions" box in the game. Is that what everyone is doing to experience this problem, or is that not happening for all players somehow?

They do. My previous game, that I had just played a day before the Nothern Lords came out, just crashes. Not corrupt or anything, just very likely incompatible.

Been playing all week without a single issue, since the patch my save crashes so i would assume current patch is not compatible with old saves.
