How to keep my empire together as an African ruler?
I'm going for "A Mother of us all" and the only difficulty I see is how to prevent my realm from fracturing into sub-empires in order to rule all of Africa. It seems I either have to go feudal way too early to get Feudal Elective succession law or disinherit my children like mad right before I die. Am I missing something? Some secret African culture with reasonable succession law?

Keep in mind that you don't need to rule all of Africa for the achievement. It just has to be converted to your faith (reformed or unreformed). So making sure that all your heirs are of your religion and preferably inherit already converted lands is one way to do it. Your best bet to get an advanced culture in Africa is Egypt, if you want to go feudal with a good tech level. Taking the Hausa culture into early middle ages will most likely take too much time. As stated above adjusting your reformed religion might help with that as well (monasticism tenet comes to mind although I would consider other tenets more valuable for the run).
Other than that I would recommend one of the various guides on youtube regarding succession.

You can minimize it by picking female or male dominated when you reform your religion. Other than that your only option is to disinherit or immediately go to war to retake the lost titles.

Are you sure about that? Because it was not good enough for Reconquista that all of Iberia was Christian. Every county had to be inside my realm to get that achievement.

Pretty sure I'm referring to the requirements taken from
ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Achievement
The only requirement for the mother of us all is
Has reformed and converted all African Counties to one of the following religions
Reconquista has multiple requirements one of them is
Completely controls the Iberia region

OK. Thanks!
Africa is hard because of partition. Something to do is break up duchies. Spread counties around to dukes in your core title. That way when there is succession you will lose titles but not land. Give the other heirs a crappy county so when they inherit they will get that county and nothing else. The might be king of X but have no other land

My problem is the empire/kingdom titles, not the counties. ...At least until I conquer Egypt and Wanna keep it to be my heir new capital.

thats why i said split up duchies in the other kingdoms. Give the counties to other dukes in your core. So when the split happens there is no land for them since its held by your vassals

The ideal situation is to get one of the heirs as a one county king and then leave him be. That way the title is never recreated or inherited by your heir. Let him be king of wakanda is his little pissant county. Protect him while you wait for the tech to change succession.
