Spouse not appearing in council
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but the game isn't putting my spouse in the spouse section of the council and is saying that I don't have a spouse. . . but I do. I even divorced and remarried them to try to fix the issue but it's still saying I don't have a spouse.

It says you have no available spouse because your spouse is not available for one of several reasons unless you give more details I can't specify why but it could be she is a vassal of someone else or she is currently ruling another county or she is elsewhere acting as a guardian of a child etc.

Most likely is serving in another court, happens if you marry a member of a revolt and a few other cases. Just get an unlanded wife from somewhere else

Ahh, that makes sense. It's just weird because one second she was on the council and then suddenly she wasn't.

I had similar experience; I made her guardian of a child expecting the child to come to her but she went there and disappeared from my council so I had to remove her as guardian.

I'd just murder her for lazyness and marry another. :)

Perhaps they were an heir to a title

be careful with this. my wife began one senseless war after another. ultimately she became vassal of someone else and my heir lost her titles. f uc king bit ch. should have killed her after I conquered wales for her.

I've had the opposite happen, which has confused me. Normally when your spouse is ruling a county they are unavailable, but for some reason I have had my spouse be a countess of somewhere or other and also be on my council. I have only noticed this a couple of times and not been able to figure out why or if it is a bug.

If they are a vassal in your own realm they will still get the spouse slot on your council. If they are independent rulers they will not.

Was she your vassal or was she the vassal of another vassal?

When she is your direct vassal it is possible for her still to be on the council.

Just wish my current spouse would eff off - complete disaster, they are. Married them for the prestige gain and alliance and have regretted it ever since.

Currently educating my daughter into how to sharpen daggers and catch snakes...

Amazing how there's always another perspective...
